Country house VD in Ichtegem

Durability and quality, that’s what this project is about.

The project start with the location…the garden….a gigantic lawn and solid blocks of yew and hornbeam, a perfect location for an oak-framed building, a summerhouse full of light made of stone and wood.

The oak roof trusses are constructed with authentic craftsmanship and makes the building a centuries-old, functional beauty.

With oak and extremely durable Afrormosia which gives a beautiful silver-grey colour, the building is maintenance-free which effortlessly defy the ravages of time.

The masonry of old bricks and hand-made tiles gives the building a natural look. Overall the timber outbuildings acquire a unique patina, and will blend in with their natural context, the landscape and the large garden.
